Today we returned to the eastern Algarve, more specifically to the much sought after beach of Manta Rota. As soon as we reached the beach, already mentally prepared for the impossible demand to find a place on the sand, we were surprised with the festivities in honor of São João da Degola, with a picnic that follows the traditional Holy Bath of the region, which was believed to be capable of healing all ills.

Hoje voltámos ao sotavento algarvio, mais propriamente à muito procurada praia da Manta Rota. Mal chegámos à praia, já psicologicamente preparados para a missão impossível de encontrar lugar na areia, fomos brindados com as festividades em honra de São João da Degola, com um piquenique que sucede ao tradicional Banho Santo da região, que se acreditava ser capaz de curar todos os males.
